How to activate and use Subject Tracking mode with the Mavic 4 Pro gimbal: Subject Tracking mode on the DJI Mavic 4 Pro leverages the three-axis gimbal to keep the subject focused and centered in the shot, even if the drone or subject moves. This mode is activated from the DJI Fly app interface, by selecting the subject on the touchscreen and choosing the ActiveTrack option.

Once activated, the gimbal continuously adjusts the camera's orientation to follow the subject's movement, while the drone's sensors and algorithms calculate the optimal flight path to maintain distance and framing. This system is ideal for capturing moving people, vehicles, or animals without losing the smoothness of the shot.

For example, when following a cyclist on a trail, the gimbal ensures that the cyclist remains centered in the image even if the drone flies sideways or changes altitude. Tracking can be customized with different modes, such as following from behind, from the side, or orbiting the target.

This flexibility, combined with advanced stabilization, ensures smooth and dynamic results without the pilot having to manually adjust the camera. It is important, however, to choose safe, obstacle-free flight conditions to maximize the effectiveness of automatic tracking.
